action Plan:

Digital Photo Organization

Never worry about finding that one photo again ...

🔍 SESSION THIRTEEN: FILTERED FOR FOCUS

If you're don't feel focused, you're not filtering enough. In this lesson, we will cover how filtering can work to your advantage, and how your vantage point will be different depending on what you are working on day-to-day.

In this first session, we will brainstorm together some possibly options for your new business model and ideal lifestyle. You will walk away with some journaling exercises that you'll bring back for session two.

In this session, we will talk about your ideal hub, i.e. the home for all of your digital photos. What is the correct DPH for your needs? This takes a bit of testing, but it'll ensure that you don't have to redo it later on.

In this lesson, we talk about the maintenance of your collection. What do you do when? Who is responsible? Let's create a maintenance strategy that keeps the collection up to date at all times.

In digital photo organizing, metadata is they key to sanity. Learn why, and explore which aspects to include!

In today's digital world, you don't need to learn how to save more; you need to learn how to exclude more. That's why, in this session, we decide on better criteria so that you can raise your standards and know what's worthy of your time. Goodbye screenshots!

This independent action plan is a deeper dive into digital photo organization for either individual needs (think travel professional) or for business purpose (think finding and repurposing more creative assets). Even the smallest of collections nowadays often amount to hundreds of thousands of photos, and if you can't find it or share them with the people who matter, what good are they?

We start with a brainstorming session on what system and workflows might be the solution, and then we expand on best practices in importing, tagging, managing, and sharing the best content. We also make sure you have a backup system in place, and do as little manual work as possible.

Though perhaps not the first action plan to consider, this is a recommended one for all digital nomads. It's very similar to the PKM action plan, but focuses solely on photos.

⚠️ SESSION FOURTEEN: MAINTENANCE MISSION

In this session, I will guide you through my 6p formula for evaluating platforms and services to choose the one that matches the best with the needs of the student.

Who needs access to what content and when? How? Why? Considering this upfront it a must if you plan on working with others, especially in a business setting.

In this session, we cover the 3-2-1 backup system and make a plan that will keep the collection safe.

Disorganized tags are worse than not having them at all. Learn how to create controlled keyword vocabulary for your files, so that you can find what you need, filter, repurpose, and give credit where credit is due.

Have lots of people or places to identify in photos? Yeah, us nomads often do! Learn how to harness the power of metadata and AI to keep track of names and locations.

"Project wrap-up" time is one of the bigger culprits in digital disorganization. Learn how to avoid this issue by completing the transfer - every time!

‼️ SESSION TWELVE: DUPLICATE DILEMMA

Most collections are inflated about 30-50% just in terms of duplicates. In this lesson, we will chat about ways to combat this and how to continually prevent them from costing you money.
